Using the Help Search
  • Phrase:Returns all topics that contain the exact phrase in the search criteria. Use quotation marks around the phrase.
    Ex."system administration"
  • And:Returns all topics that contain all the words in the search criteria, in any combination. Insert a plus sign between all words in the search criteria.
    Ex.system + administration
  • Or:Returns all topics with any combination of words in the search criteria. This is the default.

Contents of the Manage Functional Job Titles Screen

Use the fields and options to configure the Manage Functional Job Titles screen.

Click on the toolbar to add a new functional job title entry. Then click on the toolbar to save all the entered data.

Field Description
Functional Job Title Code

Enter a unique code that identifies this functional job title. An example of a functional job title code for a systems engineer is SYSENG.

Functional Job Title Description

Enter a description for the Functional Job Title Code. An example of a functional job title description is Systems Engineer.

Job Category

Enter, or click to select, a job category code to which the functional job title is assigned. Establish job category codes in the Costpoint Affirmative Action Controls menu. You can link several Functional Job Titles to one Job Category code. When you enter a valid Job Category code, the EEO Code that is linked to that code in the Job Categories table defaults into the EEO column.

EEO Code

Enter, or click to select, the EEO code associated with this job title. You can also view the system-defined EEO codes on the Configure Affirmative Action Settings screen. This is a required field. If a Job Category has been assigned to the Functional Job Title Code, the EEO displays.

VETS-4212

Enter, or click to select, the EEO code to use on the VETS-4212 report. This field is required.

Note: The Job Categories column on the updated VETS-4212 Report now uses the numbering system on the EEO-1 Report.
Training Position

When applicable, select this check box to establish this functional job title as a training position. This identifies if an employee's job needs to be designated as a "Training" position according to EEO reporting requirements. If this job position is not a trainee position, clear this check box.

Grade

Enter, or click to select the grade associated with the Functional Job Title Code. Validation against the Grades table is performed.

Summary Job Title

If applicable, enter, or click to select the 10-character alphanumeric summary job title associated with the Functional Job Title Code.

Note: You must have established summary job titles before you can enter them in this field. The system performs validation against the Manage Summary Job Titles table. This is a required field if you selected the Summary Job Title Required option on the Configure Compensation Settings screen. This field is not available if you did not select the Summary Job Title Required option on the Configure Compensation Settings screen.
Summary Job Description

If you enter a Summary Job Title, the description established for that title displays in this field.
