Use the fields and options to configure the View Part Inventory screen.

Field Description
Part

Enter, or click to select, a part ID. If you leave this field blank, Costpoint will not use part ID as a criterion for selecting inventory information to display.

Rev

Enter, or click to select, the desired revision for this part ID, or leave the field blank to view inventory information for all revisions of the selected parts.

Make/Buy

From the drop-down list, select Make or Buy to restrict the selection to make parts or buy parts. If you leave this field blank, Costpoint does not select parts by make/buy code.

U/M

This field displays the default or inventory unit of measure for the selected part.

Planner

Enter, or click to select, the planner ID you want to view inventory information for. If you specify a planner in this field, Costpoint checks the value in the Planner Assignment group box on Configure Production Control Settings to determine how to select inventory rows.

  • If you assign planners by part, it includes inventory information for all parts assigned to the entered planner ID.
  • If you assign planners by commodity code, it includes inventory information for all parts that have commodity codes assigned to the entered planner ID.
  • If you assign planners by project, it includes inventory information for all projects assigned to the entered planner ID.
  • If you assign planners by netting group, it includes inventory information for all projects linked to the netting groups assigned to the entered planner ID.
Project

To limit the inquiry to inventory for a single project, enter, or click to select, the project ID.

If you did not select the Exact Match option, you can enter a partial project number value and have Costpoint return inventory for all project IDs that meet the selection criteria value.

Netting Group

To limit the inquiry to a single netting group, enter, or click to select, the netting group ID. Netting groups are groups of inventory projects that will be planned together.

Include Inventory From Other Companies

This checkbox appears if you clear the Separate Items By Company checkbox in the Corporate Settings block of the Configure Product Definition Settings screen. (If you select the Separate Items By Company checkbox, this checkbox is hidden.)

Select this checkbox to include inventory from other companies and projects in the inquiry's result set. When Costpoint searches lower levels for inventory, order, requisition, requirement, and part/project information, lower-level rows also display from other companies.

If you clear this checkbox, only those project IDs that are linked to your user ID and company display in the result set.

Suppress Zero Quantity Rows

Select this checkbox if you do not want to view parts that currently have zero quantities for all inventory, on-hand, on-req, reserved, and owed. If you clear this checkbox, parts that have all zero quantities are not excluded from the query.

Part/Project Selection Criteria

Exact Match

Select this option to find an exact match for the Part or Project text you entered.

Begins With

Select this option to find all items that begin with the Part or Project text you entered.

Ends With

Select this option to find all items that end with the Part or Project text you entered.

Contains

Select this option to find all items containing the Part or Project text you entered.

Include RMA Inventory Select this checkbox to display customer returned inventory in RMA-type locations. Selecting this checkbox allows you to view the quantity of the following RMA type:
  • RMA On Order Qty
  • RMA Received Qty
  • RMA Accepted Qty
  • RMA Rejected Qty

Part Inventory Inquiry

This table displays summary-level part information. To inquire at a more detailed level, select the line for which you want additional information and click the appropriate link at the bottom of the screen to open the subtask.

Field Description
Part

This field displays the part ID of the inventory record.

Rev

This field displays the revision number for the inventory record part. This field is hidden if you entered a Rev in the Search Criteria group box.

Description

This field displays a description of the inventory record part.

Part Security

This field is visible only if the Use Part Data Security Controls checkbox is selected on the Configure Product Definition Settings screen, which indicates that the assembly part is subject to data security restrictions, as defined in the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

If enabled, this field displays one of the following values to indicate whether the part you are accessing is subject to part data security restrictions and whether you have the necessary authorization to access information for that part:

  • Unrestricted: The part is not subject to data security restrictions.
  • Restricted: The part is subject to data security restrictions and you are authorized to access detailed part information.
  • ***UNAUTHORIZED***: The part is subject to data security restrictions and you are not authorized to access or view part information. This value is displayed in red background color.
Note: The features in this release relating to Part Data Security are intended to assist your company in achieving ITAR compliance. However, it is each company’s responsibility to confirm that it is meeting its obligations with respect to ITAR or other applicable requirements. Deltek does not warrant that use of this functionality will result in compliance.
U/M

This field displays the default or inventory unit of measure for the selected part.

Make/Buy

This field displays M (Make) or B (Buy) for the selected part.

Project

This field displays the project ID associated with the inventory record. This field does not display if the inquiry was limited to a single project.

Net Available Quantity

This field displays the number of parts for the selected part and project that are available for use. Costpoint calculates this value by adding the On Hand Quantity, In Inspection Quantity, In Shipping Quantity, On Order Quantity, Requisition Quantity, Owed Quantity, Planned Owed Qty, and In MRB Quantity (only if you selected the Incl MRB as Available Inventory checkbox on the Configure Production Control Settings screen), and then subtracting the Reserved and Planned Reserved quantities.

Current Available Qty

This field displays the currently available quantity for the part/project combination. It is the sum of on-hand and in-inspection quantities, minus the reserved quantity, for the part/inventory abbreviation combination.

On Hand Quantity

This field displays the quantity of parts for the selected part and project that are in On Hold locations.

In Inspection Quantity

This field displays the quantity of parts for the selected part and project that have been received but have not been accepted or rejected or that are in a reinspection location.

In MRB Quantity

This field displays the quantity of parts for the selected part and project that are in MRB (Material Review Board) locations.

In Shipping Quantity

This field displays the quantity of parts for the selected part and project that are in shipping locations.

On Order Quantity

This field displays the quantity of parts for the selected part and project that are on open purchase and manufacturing orders.

Requisition Quantity

This field displays the quantity of parts for the selected part and project that are on open purchase requisitions.

Reserved Quantity

This field displays the quantity of parts for the selected part and project that have been reserved by inventory reservations, manufacturing orders, and sales orders.

Owed Quantity

This field displays the quantity of parts for the selected part and project that are owed to it from another project (a transfer reservation).

Planned Reserved Qty

This field displays the quantity of parts for the selected project for inventory requests that have not been fully approved.

Planned Owed Qty

This field displays the quantity of parts for the selected project for inventory transfer requests that have not been fully approved.

On Hold Quantity

This field displays the quantity of parts for the selected part and project that are in On Hold locations.

Common Inventory

This field displays Y (Yes) or N (No) to indicate whether this is a company-owned, non-allocated inventory project.

Commodity

This field displays the commodity code for the inventory row's part.

Project Abbrev

This field displays the project abbreviation associated with the inventory record. This field does not display if the inquiry was limited to a single project.

Project Name

This field displays the project name associated with the inventory record. This field does not display if the inquiry was limited to a single project.

Netting Group

This field displays the netting group ID associated with the project on the selected line.

Allow Substitutes

This field displays Y (Yes) or N (No) to indicate whether substitute parts are allowed for the part and project on the row.

Forecast Qty

This field displays the sum of open sales and user-defined forecast quantities for the inventory record's part and project.

Lead Time Days

This is the total lead time (in days) that is calculated in the Planning subtask of the Manage Parts screen (in Costpoint Product Definition).

This quantity is used as the Master Production Schedule (MPS) time fence only if the MPS Settings – MPS Time Fence Method is set to Use Part Lead Time.

Buyer

This field displays the buyer ID assigned to the selected part.

Planner

This field displays the planner ID assigned to the selected part.

Default Warehouse

This field displays the default warehouse for the selected part.

Default Location

This field displays the default warehouse location for the selected part.

Order Policy

This field displays the order policy type. The order policy type represents the lot-sizing technique to be used for this part which can be one of the following:

  • Discrete Lot Size: This type has the MPS/MRP processes set the planned order quantity equal the quantity of the net requirements.
  • Min/Mult Lot Size: This type requires that the order quantity meet the minimum and multiple lot sizes specified for the part.
  • Order to Point: The Inventory Reorder Process will automatically place a purchase requisition for this part whenever the inventory quantity is less than or equal to the reorder point. It will order the quantity necessary to bring the quantity up to the Order to Point quantity. The Order to Point and Reorder Point are defined on the Manage Part Project Data screen in Product Definition.
  • Period: This type requires that the lot size equal net requirements for the specified number of calendar or shop days.
  • Reorder Point: The Inventory Reorder Process will automatically place a purchase requisition for this part whenever the quantity on hand is reduced to or below a specified level (reorder point level). The Reorder Point Quantity field on the Manage Parts screen will be used as the requisition's order quantity. The Order-To point and Reorder Point are defined on the Manage Part Project Data screen in Product Definition.
Multiple Lot Size

This field displays the number by which the lot size must be multiplied if the calculated planned order is to meet the net requirements for the selected part.

Period Order Days

This field displays the number of shop days for which Costpoint will combine net requirements to create a planned order for the selected part.

Planning Type

This field displays the planning type for this part:

  • [None]: The part has not been assigned a planning method.
  • MRP: The part will be planned by the Materials Requirement Planning process.
  • Reorder: The part will be planned using the Inventory reorder report.
  • MPS: The part will typically be planned by the Master Production Scheduling process, but can be planned by MRP if you select the Plan MPS Part Requirements checkbox on the Configure Materials Requirements Planning Settings screen.
Reorder Quantity

This field displays the reorder quantity for the selected part from the Manage Parts screen in Costpoint Product Definition.

Location This field displays the inventory warehouse location.
RMA On Order Qty This field displays the order quantity of the RMA PO/External PO linked to the RMA/RMA line.

This field is visible if the Include RMA Inventory checkbox is selected.

RMA Received Qty This field displays the customer returned quantity that is currently in the RMA Received type of location.

This field is visible if the Include RMA Inventory checkbox is selected.

RMA Accepted Qty This field displays the customer returned quantity that is currently in the RMA Accepted type of location.

This field is visible if the Include RMA Inventory checkbox is selected.

RMA Rejected Qty This field displays the customer returned quantity that is currently in the RMA Rejected type of location.

This field is visible if the Include RMA Inventory checkbox is selected.
