Copy Pools
Use this toolkit to copy one or all pools for a given allocation group and fiscal year to another allocation group/fiscal year.
Use this toolkit at the beginning of each fiscal year to establish pools for the new fiscal year. You can also set up pools manually on the Manage Cost Pools screen or use the Create Pool Links screen. However, the Copy Pools toolkit is less time consuming, and you can use it if there are no major modifications to the pool structure.
This utility differs from the Clone feature on the Manage Cost Pools screen in that you can copy all pools simultaneously instead of just one at a time.
You can execute this toolkit more than once to include the different pools for an allocation group and fiscal year; however, you can execute this toolkit only once for a given allocation group/fiscal year/pool combination. In other words, once you have copied a pool for some of the subtask data for a pool (such as the pool base and pool cost), you cannot copy it again for additional subtasks of the same pool. Note that the main screen and the Default Accounts subtask of the Manage Cost Pools screen are automatically included in the copying process. If you select the Pool Base Data and Pool Cost Data check boxes, the Manage Base Creation Setups and Manage Cost Creation Setups screens are automatically created for the new fiscal year.
You must set up cost pools for a new fiscal year before executing the Compute/Print Pool Rates screen. You can set up pools manually using the Clone feature on the Manage Cost Pools screen, or you can set up pools using this utility. Be sure to execute the Build Rate Application Table screen after you have established the pools for a new fiscal year.
