Use this subtask to view the amount of income tax withholding at the local level.

Field Description
Employee

This field displays the ID of the employee whose record you are viewing. These fields display from the header on the main screen.  

Pay Cycle

This field displays the pay cycle that has been processed for this record. This field displays from the header on the main screen.

Pay Cycle End Date

This field displays the end date for the pay cycle that has been processed for this record. This displays from the header on the main screen.

Record Type

This field displays the check type that has been processed for this record. This field displays from the header on the main screen. The check types are:

  • R: Regular
  • B: Bonus
  • V: Voided
  • W: Represents the positive values of a replacement check
  • X: Can be used any time you want to generate a paycheck without first entering a timesheet
Taxable Entity

This field displays the taxable entity to which the employee is assigned at the time of entry for this record. This field displays from the header on the main screen.

Field Description
Local Tax

This field displays the locality codes from the Manage Local Taxes screen.

This alphanumeric field displays the locality for which taxes are being withheld. When payroll is computed, the value defaults into this table from the employee's local tax set up on the Manage Employee Taxes screen. If you are adding a record, enter, or click to select, a local tax code that has been assigned to this employee on the Manage Employee Taxes screen.

Exempt Pay Types

Enter the amount for exempt local pay types.

Exempt Deductions

Enter amount for local exempt deductions.

Taxable Wages

This non-editable field displays the system-calculated amount for local taxable wages. Costpoint calculates the taxable amount from the gross wages on the main screen less the exempt wages based on the local taxability of the pay types and deductions entered in the respective subtasks.

Withheld

This non-editable field displays the system-calculated amount for local income taxes withheld.

Accrued Expense

This non-editable field displays the accrued expenses for this record.

Filing Status

This field displays the status that was used to calculate the local tax. It is also used as the basis for local tax recalculation.

Exemptions

This field displays the number of exemptions that was used to calculate the local tax. It is also used as the basis for local tax recalculation.

Dependents

This field displays the number of dependents that was used to calculate the local tax. It is also used as the basis for local tax recalculation.

Credits

This field displays the number of credits that was used to calculate the local tax. It is also used as the basis for local tax recalculation.

Override Amount

This field displays the override amount for the local tax. It is also used as the basis for local tax recalculation.

Override Percent This field displays the override percent assigned to the employee and local code on the Local Taxes subtask of the Manage Employee Taxes screen. If specified, Costpoint multiplied this override percentage by the local taxable wages to determine the local tax withholding each pay period when payroll was computed. This percentage was used in place of the local tax tables.
Additional Amount

This field displays the additional amount that was applied to the local tax. It is also used as the basis for local tax recalculation.

State This field displays the State assigned to the specified local tax code.
Priority This field displays the Priority assigned to the specified local tax code. This value indicates the order in which the local tax was withheld.
Pennsylvania Local Tax PSD Code

If the local code is linked to the state of PA (Pennsylvania), this field displays the PSD Code assigned to the local code

This field is populated when payroll is computed or when the record is recalculated. The source of the data is the jurisdiction code assigned to the local code on the Manage Local Taxes screen.

Pennsylvania Resident PSD Code

This field displays the Pennsylvania Political Subdivision (PSD) Code assigned to the municipality in which the employee lives.

This field is populated when payroll is computed or when the record is recalculated. The source of the data is the Pennsylvania Resident PSD Code from the Local Taxes subtask on the employee's Manage Employee Taxes screen.

Pennsylvania Worksite PSD Code

This field displays the Pennsylvania Political Subdivision (PSD) code assigned to the municipality in which the employee works.

This field is populated when payroll is computed or when the record is recalculated. The source of the data is the Pennsylvania Worksite PSD Code from the Local Taxes subtask on the employee's Manage Employee Taxes screen.
