Revenue Ceilings Additional Information on Ceilings

Revenue Ceilings are used for the revenue calculations and Burden calculations.

Revenue and Fee Ceilings

Revenue and Fee ceilings do not come across from Costpoint into Planning.  However, the details of the revenue formula come across, and Planning automatically stops the revenue at funding.  Within the setup, you can allow the revenue to exceed the funding, change the fee% on the type of cost, or change the whole setup of what is recognized as revenue (Labor, Non-labor, ODC, Material, Burdens, and so on).

Default Revenue formulas are established in the Rev Info subtask in the Project Setup area of Costpoint, but can be overridden via the Cost Fee Ovrd subtask.  Planning does not pull in fee overrides, and it does not pull in the default fee calculations from the Rev Info subtask.  However, you can make adjustments in the Revenue Setup screen.

Rate Ceilings

Rate Ceilings limit the budgeted rates applied to project budgets. For example, if the Fringe Rate is 30% but there is a ceiling in Costpoint for this project of 25%, Planning applies the 25% to that particular project budget.

Burden Cost Ceilings

Burden Cost Ceilings are accounted for only in the limitation of the funding. On the Project Status report, it will copy exactly what is in the Costpoint PSR, but in calculating cost reports it will show target for current year. Prior Year will show either Target or Actual depending on how they close the year. For Calculating Revenue, it uses Target rate until the revenue funding is hit and then it is calculated as over ceiling.

Hour Ceilings and Direct Cost Ceiling are used in Revenue Calculations and Reporting.

Burden Fee Override

Planning typically leverages the target indirect rates stored in Costpoint. On a project-by-project basis in Costpoint, those rates can be overridden on the Burd Fee Overd screen.  Planning captures such exceptions from this screen, and pulls in Rate Ceilings and limits G&A for budgeting purposes.

Costpoint Revenue Integration is used to modify a Costpoint table and integrate revenue from Planning to Costpoint.
