Identification
Use this group box to specify the opportunity ID and name.
Field | Description | |||||||||||||||||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Opportunity ID | Enter a unique ID to identify the opportunity, or leave this field blank to have Costpoint automatically assign an ID if the Auto-assign Opportunity IDs check box is selected on the Configure Opportunity Settings screen. | |||||||||||||||||||||
Name |
Enter the name for the opportunity. You can enter a longer name on the Details/Addresses tab. If the opportunity is imported from GovWin IQ, this field defaults to the GovWin IQ opportunity name, but you can change it. |

Record Type |
This field displays the record type. Valid values are:
|
|||||||||||||||||||||
Record Status |
Select the record status of the opportunity. Valid values are Active and Inactive. If you select Inactive, this opportunity will not be available in the lookup within a contract or subcontract record, but you can manually enter the opportunity ID. In addition, you will not be able to initialize a project from this opportunity on the Project Initialization subtask. Project initialization is allowed only for active opportunities. If this opportunity is active and linked to a contract, subcontract, and/or project, and you updated its record status to Inactive, the contract, subcontract, and/or project will remain linked to this opportunity. |
|||||||||||||||||||||
Exclude from Reports | Select this check box to exclude the opportunity from reports available in the Contracts domain. This is important when you need to generate reports and exclude certain types of opportunities (for example, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity and blanket purchase agreement opportunities) to avoid overstating the reports. | |||||||||||||||||||||
Use Planning |
This check box displays only if you are licensed for Costpoint Planning. Select this check box if you want to leverage resource information from the new business budget in the Planning domain in setting up team information for the opportunity. When you select this check box, some opportunity data (such as labor categories and required criteria) will be shared with the Planning domain from the Contracts domain, and some Planning data (such as new budget ID and resources) will be copied to the Contracts domain. If you select this check box, you will not be able to manually add new records on the Potential Resource Details subtask on the Team tab, as information on this subtask will come from Planning. You will also not be able to delete rows on this subtask; however, you can add and edit additional information to the records, including the PLC code, default PLC indicator, Include in Work Force check box, and other fields. The following table summarizes the actions and their results when the Use Planning check box is selected or cleared.
Attention: For details on how resource information is shared between the Contracts and Planning domains, see
Opportunity and Contract Teams and Integration with Planning.
