Use the fields and options to configure the Manage Employee ID Defaulting Rules screen.

Field Description
Employee ID Format

Enter, or click to select, the employee ID format that will default based on the values that you set in the Company and Resource Type fields. You must create employee ID format code in the Manage Employee ID Formats screen before you can enter it in this field.

Employee ID Format Description

This field displays the description for the specified employee ID format code.

Company

If the employee ID format applies to a specific company in your corporation, then enter, or click to select, the company ID.

If the employee ID Format applies to the entire corporation or is the default to be used when no employee ID format is assigned to the Company, then leave this field blank.

Resource Type

From the drop-down list, select the type of resource to which the employee ID format applies. This is a required field. Valid options are:

  • Employee:Select this option if the employee ID format applies to only resources for which the Contractor check box is not selected in the Manage Employee Information screen. (not contractors)
  • Contractor: Select this option if the employee ID format applies to only contractors (not employees). The status of Contractor only applies to the resources In the Manage Employee Information table, where the Contractor check box is selected. It does not apply to individuals maintained in the Subcontractor table.
  • Both: Select this option if the employee ID format applies to both employees and contractors
