You should set up a
Bi-Weekly pay period to switch to a bi-weekly payroll.
To change from monthly payrolls to bi-weekly, complete the following steps:
-
On the Manage Pay Periods screen, set up new pay periods and select a
Frequency of
Bi-Weekly.
-
On the Manage Leave Periods screen, set up new leave periods and select a
Frequency of
Bi-Weekly (if you plan to keep leave calculations consistent with payroll).
-
On the Manage Timesheet Periods screen, set up new timesheet periods with a
Frequency of
Bi-Weekly and a
Default Auto-Adjust % of
100% if you plan to enter just one set of timesheets per pay period.
If you plan to enter timesheets each week, set up the new timesheet periods with a
Frequency of
Weekly and a
Default Auto-Adjust % of
50 % (to prorate labor cost for half the biweekly salary each week).
-
On the Manage Employee Information screen, change the
Cycles for
Timesheet to the new bi-weekly cycle, and change the
Leave cycle to the new bi-weekly cycle.
-
On the Manage Employee Salary Information screen, enter the
Hourly rate of pay.
This rate is multiplied by the number of work hours in the year, as set in the Configure Labor Setting screen, to get the annual salary. Then, the annual salary is divided by the number of pay periods per year. Make sure that the pay period salary is correct. Otherwise, auto-adjusted timesheets for salaried employees could be incorrect.
-
On the Manage Employee Taxes screen, change the
Pay Cycle to the new bi-weekly cycle.
